Dear friends,
As you know, I participated in this year's New York City Marathon - with 39,000 runners and over 1 million spectators the largest race in the world. Even though I had to deal with a knee injury (which I got 2 weeks before the race), I somehow managed to run the 26 miles (42 km) and finished the race in 5 hours and 33 minutes. After one year of intense training, this was a very special event for me and I wanted to share some pictures with you which I have taken during the race (and yes, I added some from the official event photographers). Having also completed the Los Angeles Triathlon this summer, I achieved my personal goal and finished my first triathlon and my first marathon in the same year. Now, I will rest and relax for the next couple of months, but I am sure there will be another race next year ... .
Thank you for all your support!
Björn

Very nice my friend! Quite an awesome accomplishment! Just to think, when I first met you you were puffing cigarettes making beerymids in the living room. Totally awesome bud!
Very cool slide show... it was as if I were there. I'm exhausted! Did Larry the Lighthouse run with that thing on the entire race?
Thanks for sharing.

Way to go, Squeek!!
What an amazing experience, and such a phenomenal achievement. Thank you so much for sharing your slide show. I've always heard about it, but to see the photos gives me a whole new perspective on the magnitude of the event. . .as well as the endurance it must've taken you to complete this (injured knee and all).
I was exhausted just looking at your slides. . .!
Thanks again, and Happy Thanksgiving!
Awesome! How exhilarating (and grueling!) it must have been to do the run with so many people and to cross the finish line! Congrats on completing your first marathon. I look forward to seeing and hearing about more of your athletic adventures :-)
Congratulations. Now you can say you've done it!
Wow, the photos are amazing! Thanks so much for sharing, it's inspiring.
Great job, I'm really proud of you for persevering despite the challenges you faced,
